Back from holiday and a few sunny days allow me to tidy-up and rewire the
trailer I had bought last month, a quick road-test and it seems to pull very
easily.
Back to the car and I finally got around to fitting the mirrors I had bought
about an year ago. Hopefully this week I will also be able to travel down
south and pick-up a slave cylinder for the clutch.
Managed to pick-up a clutch slave cylinder at Mini Sports Ltd during my long weekend down in Manchester, this has the car moving under it's own steam again. Also on the trip I managed to get a small electric winch for the front of the trailer, this will make loading the car a bit simpler, and also save the clutch on it a little.
As things are coming to an end, I have started on some of the little jobs that are needed. To begin with I used a mini boot cable to form a bonnet stay, to hold the bonnet at a suitable angle, when refilling the fuel tank.
Now that the bonnet is held back in position, I also used a little of the mesh from the rear engine bulge to fill the hole in the front, that allows air to the radiator.
At the back I cut down the dzus fasteners and bonded them to the rear engine cover, these need a little tidying up and blending into the cover itself.
Finally for this weekend, I gave the floor pan a heavy coat of Hammerite paint, to provide a little protection under the flooring.
Rounded off this month with some more work on the trailer, I ground off both manual chain winches and at the front, welded on a 50x50mm angle iron to form a mount for the new electric winch.
